Mary Higgins Clark has not lost her touch. In a novel that is slightly reminiscent of “Where Are The Children”, she manages to draw the reader in and feel what a mother feels when her three-year old twin daughters are kidnapped from their own bedroom. The nightmare continues when it’s discovered that one of the girls is becoming increasingly ill and may have died or been murdered. The clues to the kidnappers are out there but are just out of the grasp of the people involved. Time seems to be running out and tension builds. Clark has a wonderful way of capturing the reader and not letting go until the very last page.
