Book of the Month Club for July

Now that we’ve gotten caught up on our Book of the Month Club reading from previous months, we can start fresh with the July selections. The variety in the monthly selections is superb. We get recommendations from well-known names in media and literary communities, we are provided with short summaries and reasons for making these particular selections. This month we have a thriller, historical fiction, women’s fiction, fantasy and debut titles. Each book will appeal to a variety of readers and are perfect selections for the long, hot days of summer when we are all looking for a little escape.

THE LAST TIME I LIED by Riley Sager ($20) – Thriller – A summer camp shuts down when four girls go missing. 15 years later, we find out the chilling reason behind their disappearance.

THE SUMMER WIVES by Beatriz Williams ($22) – Historical Fiction – This 1950s New England tale of desire and power is about a fisherman’s son and the woman who loves him.

SPINNING SILVER by Naomi Novik ($22) – Fantasy – Every Game of Thrones fan’s new favorite book.

THE GIRL FROM BLIND RIVER by Gale Massey ($28) – Debut (Crime Fiction) – A small-town crime story about a young poker phenom and the lengths she’ll go to protect those she loves.
