Review:

This is quite an emotionally riveting debut novel and I have no doubt it will resonate deeply with readers. This book was particularly poignant for me, as I have recently lost a loved one to this horrible disease. I am not going to lie, I went into this book reluctantly. I was nervous that it would be too painful to read, but it was just the opposite. Yes, it was emotional but it was also powerful. It closely examines the lives of sisters and how a catastrophe can put everything else into perspective. I think having the story told from Tess’ point of view made the story particularly effective. Cancer is at the heart of this novel, it is the catalyst around which everything revolves, but it is not a book about cancer. It is a book about surviving. It is a book about family. It is a book about life and death, faith and hope. This is a wonderful book that readers of all ages will take to heart.

  1. Sounds super emotional- could be good. You never know.

  2. I read this book, and I absolutely love it, the characters are like my sister and I. She’s the beautiful one that everyone fawns over, and she tries to get me to become like her. Meanwhile, I’m the quiet, shy, and smart one who doesn’t really get noticed. That’s like the only thing that connects me with the book. My sister has a “skin disease”, where she easily gets random blisters and the skin on her hands peel off. And I have arthritis in my knees, (which sucks because I’m a tennis player and I have to run), my appendix kills most of the time, and some friends told me that I might have a thing where my appendix is swelling. So instead of just one of us suffering both of us are, (but I am more.)

  3. i read this book and its my favorite book and i hope that everyone will read it!!!!
