Salon’s book editor Laura Miller wrote a note to the readers this weekend saying there will be more book content on the site in weeks to come.
They will be doing the standard best books of the year list this week. But starting on Monday December 14, the What to Read section will start up. It will consist of weekly book picks of all genres and it will also explain why the book is better than ones similar to it.
Miller gives an indepth look into the assigning of books reviews and why the book reviews are fading from publications. It’s very interesting how editors, without reading the book (they don’t have the time), have to find the right reviewer for it.
The reason why I started reading Salon in the first place was Laura Miller and her staff of first rate reviewers. I looked forward to the five book reviews every month and the eye catching graphic to go along with the reviews.
