Isabel Kaplan has an essay about her new YA novel, Hancock Park, in The Daily Beast . Kaplan started writing her book during her junior year in high school in Los Angeles . In the essay Kaplan talks about the origins of her novel, about her well off childhood and her love hate relationship with her hometown. She is currently attending Harvard.
