It is very coincidental that I chose to read this book the exact week that the scandal of fictitious events in the author’s memoir came to light. I am going to review this book on the merit of what I read, without regard to what may or may not have been fabricated. In A MILLION LITTLE PIECES, Frey allows the reader to step inside the mind of an addict and experience the turbulent road to recovery. Frey writes with gut wrenching realism about a life torn apart and one man’s determination to put it all back together – one piece at a time.
UPDATE: Note to Frey, next time just write a fictional novel. Can’t wait to see what happens with My Friend Leonard. Also, I wouldn’t count on an invite back to Oprah anytime soon…
