Here is the latest installment of Piper’s Book Nook…and we at BookFinds are thinking this should be a regular segment. What do you think? Personally, I think children make the best reviewers…no one is more honest and straightforward than an 8-year-old…trust me!

Hello all! I am going to be contributing to BookFinds’ coverage on everything that relates to the childhood discoveries found in books! We are going to kick off this new segment by taking an indepth look at the extraordinary world Meg Cabot has created with The Princess Diaries. We are going to go from Book One all the way to her final installment with Forever Princess: Princess Diaries #10!!! Anytime you see a post from moi, “Princess”, you know you will be entering a beautiful, carefree and enchanted world. I will be covering children’s books, middle reader stories and everything and anything that a child (or child at heart) can find in a bookstore. Come along on this exciting adventure into children’s literature!

Next Post: What I learned from Princess Diaries #1

The Princess Diaries #1

Here’s the description of The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot…

She’s just a New York City girl living with her artist mom…

News Flash: Dad is prince of Genovia. (So that’s why a limo meets her at the airport!)

Downer: Dad can’t have any more kids. (So no heir to the throne.)

Shock of the Century: Like it or not, Mia Thermopolis is prime princess material.

Mia must take princess lessons from her dreaded grandmére, the dowager princess of Genovia, who thinks Mia has a thing or two to learn before she steps up to the throne.

Well, her father can lecture her until he’s royal-blue in the face about her princessly duty–no way is she moving to Genovia and leaving Manhattan behind. But what’s a girl to do when her name is Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo?

2001 Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Readers (ALA), Books for the Teen Age 2001 (NYPL) and 2001 Best Books for Young Adults (ALA)

—stay tuned for my thoughts, interpretation and overall impression of the first book in this phenomenally popular series.
