Nicholas Sparks is The Lucky One

Nicholas Sparks really does have the magic touch! Yet another one of his novels has been snapped up for film adaptation by Warner Bros. Dear John is full steam ahead, with a cast and crew ready to go, and now The Lucky One, which tells the story of Logan Thibault, a Marine who survives three tours in Iraq. He attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met, and he sets out to meet his good-luck charm when he returns to North Carolina.

  1. Why are all of Nicholas Sparks’ characters creepy stalkers? How does he expect the woman in the photo to react? Perhaps there’s some horrible Audition-like ending to add a twist to the proceedings? I read his books out of guilty pleasure, but I rent them from Bookswim.com in case I need to mail them back after the first few chapters. Why, oh why middle-aged women, must you continue to fuel this monstrosity?
