Stone Gods
Jeannette Winterson’s witty new novel novel, Stone Gods, is a sci-fi tale about the impending apocalypse. The novel is set on an earth-like planet Orbus, where an ecological disaster and an impending war is making life on Orbus impossible. Despite the fact where humans can preserve their youth by altering their genes and humans have love affairs with robots. It’s a love story and adventure story told in three sections, including a trip back to 1774 with Captain Cooke, about a scientist named Billie and Robo sapien named Spike who explore a untouched new planet for habitation. The future looks bleak in Winterson’s hands but its a scary and beautiful ride.
